Q: How does the vibratory bowl feeding system work?
A: The vibratory bowl uses low-frequency mechanical vibration to agitate ferrules loaded in bulk into the bowl hopper, causing them to self-orient through the bowl's shaped track geometry and feed individually — open end first — to the crimping station at the machine's cycle rate. Bowl vibration speed is adjustable on the touchscreen to match the feeding rate to the 1.8-second cycle time. When switching to a different ferrule size, the bowl is exchanged as a unit in under 2 minutes. This eliminates the operator ferrule loading step that limits throughput to 300–500 pcs/h on manual bench crimpers and semi-automatic machines.
Q: Can the machine run in stripping-only mode without crimping ferrules?
A: Yes. The EW-5120 switches between stripping-only mode and stripping-plus-crimping mode via a touchscreen selection without mechanical tooling changes. In stripping-only mode, the machine strips the wire insulation to the programmed 8–12mm length and discharges the wire without feeding or crimping a ferrule — useful when processing wires that terminate into push-in connectors or screw terminals that do not require ferrule protection. This dual-mode capability on a single machine eliminates the need for a separate stripping-only machine on mixed production benches.
